Both Pointer squads suffered their second straight setback for the week with a pair of River Valley Conference losses at Kimmons on Thursday.

Kimmons scored 13 points off of 28 Lady Pointer turnovers as the Lady Raiders won 48-28.

The bench did the most damage by scoring 34 points for Kimmons as Tamia Knauls led the game with 14 points. Eriel West and Ashantay Dotson both added 10 points off the bench.

The Lady Pointers led 6-5 after the first quarter with a couple of baskets from Richelle Stacy.

A bucket from Knauls and a free throw from Jazz Coleman had Kimmons up 8-6, but Lexi Miller was able to score off a turnover to tie the game with 5:00 remaining in the first half.

That would be as close as the Lady Pointers would get for the duration of the contest.

Knauls made a steal and the subsequent layup and began a 14-4 run and Kimmons led 22-12 at the break.


Emily Grebe led the Lady Pointers' balanced attack with eight points with Lexi Trejo, Miller and Stacy adding six points each.

Kimmons ran away with the boys' game, 54-19.

The Raiders led 20-3 after the first quarter and 31-9 at halftime.

Braydon Gilmore led BTMS with seven points and Peyton Courtney added five.
