The Pointer softball team started the season with an 18-7 victory over Russellville in their AAA benefit game Tuesday night.
After 2 scoreless innings, the Pointers scored 4 runs in the third and 6 runs in the fourth to break the game open. McKennah Sikes led the Pointers offensively with 2 doubles and a homerun. Sikes also pitched 5 scoreless innings. Whitney Ellis and Hali Bartholomew each collected 2 hits a piece. Richelle Stacy drove in 3 runs and Alexcia Trejo and Hannah Brewer each drove in 2 run a piece.
